Terms:

Migration – This is the process of moving the hosting account from one server/host to another.
Domain Name Transfer – This is the process of transferring a domain name from one registrar/host to another.

STEPS TO TRANSFER A DOMAIN

  1. Make sure the WhoIs information is up-to-date.
  2. Make sure you have access to the email address stated in the WhoIs Information as the administration contact.
  3. Unlock the domain.
  4. Retrieve the EPP Authorization key from your current registrar.
  5. If migrating the hosting, retrieve the CPanel username and password.
  6. Open a new support ticket from your client area on our website with the details, requesting assistance to transfer your domain name/hosting over to our network.

NOTE

  • QServers can only migrate hosting accounts that are active and are using the CPanel control panel, else you will have to manually migrate your hosting account yourself. CPanel migrations are free! If your current host is using a different control panel, please email support@qservers.net for a custom migration which will come at some additional costs.
  • You can not transfer a domain name that has expired, is less than 60 days old, that is locked or has no EPP code. You must also have access to the email address listed as the administrative contact on the whois lookup output/record for the domain.
  • A domain name transfer takes 5 working days (excluding weekends)
